Gotta vent - I called my 401K on Monday to have a large portion moved to an IRA. They left the 401K in place through Monday - a good day(DJA+60). I felt like a genious on Tuesday...weak day then the week ramped up... and then today(+80).
I had the check expressed to me, got it late Weds.. Overnighted Thursday, they got it today and will apply after business today...just in time for the profit taking on Tuesday(after Labor day).
I thought this would be a safe week to transfer being so close to a holiday weekend(slow trading). I wish the 401K to IRA could be a wire transfer. This having to cut a check in the name of the new fund co. sent to the investor---so the investor can sent to the the new investment is BS.
Of course if the market had dropped 100 after Monday I would be a happy camper.
