Scott Burns is affiliated with a group called AssetBuilder. They are a "fee only" financial advisor company that establishes and manages your portfolio made up of DA funds. The fee is is 0.004 of the investments under their management per year.

Have any of you all had experience with either AssetBuilder or Dimensional Advisor Funds? I'm not so sure that I wouldn't be better off just using Scott's 10 speed building block plan and manage myself.

We are pulling the retirement trigger in 6 months and want to consolidate and reallocate our assets.

Are you sure it's 0.004 and not 0.04%?

Our firm uses Dimensional funds extensivly and I personally am a big fan of them.

What is it that you want to know?
Also, if their fee is 40bps, you should be getting some extra services with them in addition to asset management.

My impression is that many advisors with access to DFA charge 1% for the first $500,000 under management. So 0.004 or 0.4% doesn't sound unusual to me. But 0.04% does sound a bit light.

There are other places that use DFA with low fees. Find them with google.
