2004 Fed Reserve Net Worth for top 10%?

A lot of people ask about net worth and here is the 2004 federal reserve survey data. Do Bill Gates, Warren Buffet , etc skew the mean so the median is the more relevant number when deciding where one's net worth is relative to other Americans? The below median and mean numbers are in thousands. Also, since I am mathematically challenged, can one extrapolate and say median is probably close to the 95th percentile?

The numbers 1430 and 3114 are the mean and median numbers in thousands respectively.
