My wife is trying to decide between two website names. Without saying what the topic is, she would like to know what each of these names suggests to you, if anything.

For instance positive reaction or negative reaction.

The two names are:

Cankicky.com

Goalkit.com

To me cankicky.com sounds playful and whimsical. Goalkit.com sounds like it is a website selling a self improvement or financial investment stategy.

Goalkit.com sounds like something I'd hear on an infomercial at 2 AM.

Cankicky.com sounds kind of fun and childish (not in a bad way), like the game kick the can.

Cankicky.com = web version of game played in youth with an empty tin can

Goalkit.com = online version of Franklin Planner, or Franklin Covey

cankicky? i have a confused, negative leaning reaction

could be can-kicky or cank-icky...hehe

goalkit, seems more straightforward, but still vague...

I like goalkit. I keep reading the first as canlicky.... which could be good too.

first one.... kick the can

Second one... kick the ball...

I intuitive didn't like cankicky (my knee-jerk, Rorschache thought was "canker sore").

With goalkit, I immediately thought of soccer.

Not sure if that's helpful, but those were my reactions. :)

If I heard "goalkit" I would remember it and spell it correctly later when I went to look for it on the web. When I heard "cankicky" I would have a hard time knowing how to spell it later and would likely confuse it with cankickity or some other variation.

To me, they sound likes sites related to soccer.

PS - some advice. If you still want to use these as domains, go and register them immediately. If not (and probably already now) someone will have gone and taken them, and you then need to start the name selection process all over again.

A domain name of a company some friends of mine started www.Admart.Asia was nearly lost because of a domain name poacher who found out they were planning to use this. They ended having to pay him to get it back before they finally launched their site.

I just looked on register.com and neither name is available, so hopefully the OP registered them before posting here,

cankicky = I immediately thought porn. I saw cankinky at first glance.

the question is, who else would have registered "cankicky", and why !?!?!

That said, I like "cankicky" unless it's a Very Serious and Boring product or service.

Names

Both names have been purchased. Thank you so much for your comments so far.

Your different takes on these names are just something we could never guess or predict.

I will add more later. I don't want to bias your first thoughts with too much info. just yet.

Who is the target audience? The webname should appeal to the target audience.
cankicky sounds like a kindercare game.
goalkit sounds like a do-it yourself success kit for 18-25 year old budding entrepreneurs.

Without reading the other responses...

CanKicky = I can kick the habit. That is, I can stop drinking or doing drugs.

GoalKit = Self help guide to help you reach your goal -- financial independence, fitness, etc.

I'm surprised no one interpreted them the way I did, and I'm sure mine is the correct interpretation.

cankicky = zany, weird, fun, interesting, probably hard to remember, overall positive
goalkit = conventional, easier to remember, overall also positive but not very exciting

Goalkit= I think of Steve Covery 7 habits of effective people, definitely a website for a infomercial
cankicky = stop smoking/drinking website or something fun and little off beat

"Cankicky" is what you do when the boss has handed you a project that's not worth your effort, or one that is sure to change its objectives at three times before being cancelled.

No, that's headslappy

Cankicky.com: negative

Goalkit.com: go for it.

First thought: she is a soccer mom, a long thought later: she's a career counselor

Your first thought is probably correct. Both names suggest sites where you can purchase international football products.

I bet they are two different potential site names for the same idea.
