LUK (Leucadia National Corp)

I'm researching LUK (index.htm). Their long term earnings growth is impressive, although I'm having a hard time valuing the company's private holdings (I'm still going through the 10Qs for the first time). LUK seems to be somewhat of a story stock (e.g., investors buy in to LUK's management duo and their value/deep-value investing style).

For existing investors trading or accumulating LUK how are you determining valuation and entry signals?
