Carpet/stain remover recipe????

Has anyone ever made and used a carpet/stain remover out of water, a couple drops dish soap and white vinegar? I found this recipe, and am tempted to try it. But, if anyone on this board has a wonderful cleaning recipe, please share.

This is a sure fire cleaner for small stains. My wife has used it for years expecially during puppy training days. The vinegar takes away the urine smell so they don't go back to that spot. I just kick their ass.
