long island in new york has over 40 estates and mansions all along the north shore.. most are private,some public some abandoned for years..
this is CEDAMERE ,its being restored but its quite beat up.... it was the home of poet/publisher william bryant

Thanks for posting. I never visited this place. The Gold Coast mansion I remember best is "Falaise". I loved Long Island, especially in the summertime.

Even though we live close by (NJ), we have never explored Lon Gyland because it is such a pain to get there from here. We should try - there are so many beautiful places there.
