Everyone has a right to protest

Sounds good to me. He managed to achieve national publicity for his protest and also get an automatic nomination for a Darwin Award.

Clearly, the dead rider's family should receive a huge settlement from the state of New York for their failure to stop him from riding without a helmet.

What irony. Seems like the events ended up bolstering the message of helmet safety awareness.

He did have the right to protest. The only thing which would have made this more ironic is if it happened on Independence Day.

This guy obviously wasn't hard headed enough to go without a helmet.

In the seventies, when the first bike helmets came out, there was one Saturday when a guy showed up for a club ride with a helmet. He got some good-natured ribbing.

On that ride he hit a dog and fell on his head. He was OK.

Next week everyone had helmets.
