May work OK if you have very soft water. Any soap based product will fail miserably in water that has any significant dissolved Ca++.

Not a chemist here, so don't know what the heck Ca++ means.

Anyhow, after a couple of loads...new Moonshine :) seems to work fine for me.

I think the layperson's term for it is "lime". Dissolved calcium carbonate from well water.

If it is working for you, the water hardness is not a problem in your area.

That's fortunate since you have a lifetime supply and no good way to dipped of it.
