planning a HI vacation

I'm planning our 2-week family vacation for this summer, dates are flexible, price check on expedia seems to show that rates are lower in late Aug. I'm still undecided between Oahu and Maui. any suggestions on what booking sites to used. I also checked craigslist for condo rentals, some seem to have pretty good rates. They seem to require 50% up front deposit, anything to watch out for in this kind of transactions?

You could do a week at each but you would lose a good portion of a day to packing, travel and unpacking. Been to both, slightly prefer Maui, but there seems to be more to do on Oahu.

For condo rentals I would check HomeAway, VRBO and TripAdvisor.
