Naked Money - book recommendation
 

Naked Money - A revealing look at what it is and why it matters: By Charles Wheelan.

I just finished reading the book and found it very valuable. It is a book about money - not wealth. What it is, how it came to be, the monetary systems, inflation/deflation, fiat currency, central banks, the impact on our economic lives etc. It also discusses the great depression, Japan's deflation, the 2008 great recession and other panics in the context of monetary systems. The last chapter is on bitcoin.

It is an interesting read especially given the dry subject. Wheelan writes in a light style and stays away from terminology.

Read it on the beach between naps.

Wheelan wrote a great book on statistics, too.
