DH and I were discussing that we remembered where we were when it hit 10,000.

The Dow will have to hit 150,000 before you can retire comfortably:

The most interesting forecast I ever heard came with that context in mind, in a 1995 market call made by Bill Berger, a pioneer of the mutual fund business. Speaking at a Society of American Business Editors and Writers conference in Boston, Berger forecast Dow 116,200 by 2040.

The crowd laughed. The Dow was at 4,500.

Has to make a person wonder...
