Yesterday, May 6, the WSJ published the latest results comparing the dart throwing Heard on the Street columnists to the fund managers. The one year comparison wasn't even close. The 'star' fund managers were down -9.7%. The dart throwers were up +17.3%, beating the S&P which managed a healthy 11.1% in the same time frame. The fund manager's picks were from last year's Sohn Conference ($5,000 charitable contribution to attend) .
The contest did not consider the management fees and performance fees the managers command.
This year's Sohn conferee was yesterday. The Heard of the Street journalists will be throwing darts again this week. The Heard's 2019 dart picks will be published in the WSJ this week.
