In the long run, it probably doesn't matter and you'll really never know so do what you are most comfortable with. If it were me, I would at least move the money from the IRA to a money market fund...

Mom had both eyes done when she was 80. We call her eagle eyes now. Huge improvement in her vision - 20/20 or better IIRC.

I have congenital cataracts in both eyes that have pretty much stayed...

I would find out more about the KPERS account. If it really is like a 401k in your low tax bracket you might not bother with it. Tax deferred savings (like a 401k) IMO...

I'm don't believe any carriers offer a policy with such a long exclusion period - I'm in a similar boat to you and a LTC policy with cheap, catastrophic coverage would appeal to me too.
