Sorry Wab, have to comment on wedding cost. I am aiming to keep it under 10K. Small (100 people) and not extravagant. We are renting a hall from our community centre and get a caterer to provide a simple 3 course dinner. We are buying our own booze and hired a family friend's kid to tend the bar (don't worry he is 24). One of my aunts is baking a small wedding cake (she used to be a chef) as a gift.
In contrast with my bro who is also getting married this month, his wedding affair is a 300 people, $85/plate. My parents will help but not much. The bride's parents will help but not much. The latest I heard that he and his bride are taking LOC to pay for it.
