Shouldn't surprise me, though, I guess. *We had friends get hitched in Chicago, and I think the reception had to be a MINIMUM 40k or the place wouldn't host it. * 
The Mrs. and I got married five years ago (tomorrow is our anniversary), and I don't think the whole shebang (church, reception, dress, bling-bling, yadda yadda) cost much over 6k. *Thank heavens for small-town Iowa. *We had around 200+ folks at our shin-dig.
