When I eat my own stuff (no refined flour products, pasta and sugary stuff), I lose immediately and steadily if I am up from induling in crap from times where I choose to partake in the stuff put out at other places, parties, relatives (read the Holidays). This year, between Thanksgiving and New Years, I bumped up 10 pounds despite maintaining my workout schedule (much more strenuous than most people). Lesson: If you put on weight easily, keep eating the standard processed crap and you are doomed to insulin resistance and excess fat even if you are engaged in physical activity much in excess of the day to day burn. I wasted my youth on pasta and pizza, became insulin resistant and now have to mind my p's (pasta) and q's (quizmos). 6' and over 190 lbs now: should be 180.
