I've dealt with these lists before and know what it's like reshuffling and renumbering. It should be OK to just put a strike through her name.

Alternatively, you (Meadbh) can log in, quote the post, remove the QUOTE tags, make the change and repost.

I had to go to my laptop to do this. The easiest way is to Quote, Select All, Copy to a blank Word file, edit out the headings, delete the obsolete data, then Select All, renumber them, Select All, and Copy back here:

We (DH and me) are officially in single digits work days. Been interesting for DH. He gave about a month and a half notice so there would be preparations for his departure. However, his boss just let people know the end of last week. And, no plans are being made. While I know it is not his problem, DW is still working crazy hours, is terribly stressed and very concerned about his team. I am a bit concerned about the days following his is last day. He has a bit of a get away trip planned. I hope that is just the transition he needs. He seems good with retirement-at least he is engaged in the fact his days are numbered.
Me on the other hand, I have just about transited all activities except one time projects that are easier for me to finish up. I have cleaned out my personal things. Not much left to do but make sure the work gets done by other team members. I have nothing scheduled for the day after my last day except waking up with no alarm, a workout (with a free mind) and a facial/massage. I can't wait!

Done as of today! Sort of anti climatic as I really only worked 6 hours last week and 2 the previous week.

But my consulting contract is done and that was what how this date was set. If they wanted me to do anything else I can charge them some outrageous number and get out of it!

So I am free...free at last! My goal was to retire before age 55 and I turn 55 on Thursday.

My wife has 16 work days left and then she can coast until December on her accrued vacation.

Congratulations!! That's awesome!!

Today marks 30 w+rk days left for me. I've finished up a majority of the stuff I have to do in order to retire from the AF, and now I'm just on auto pilot until I just don't go in anymore. I think it's going to be a very boring 30 days, but that's ok with me!

Sent from my mobile device so please excuse grammatical errors.

Tentatively going to pull the plug in December. I won a nice prize in the startup lottery, and if the stock doesn't drop more than 20% by then, everything will be set. DW has already given notice. I'm waiting for a little more certainty.

We made it. I have to say, it has not been smooth. And, I am not talking about the market activity or my finals days at work. Since giving notice, two unfortunate things have happened. It has been an especially difficult time for me. As I have been working through these situations, I am thankful for the opportunity to be retiring. Not only will I have the time to deal with the situations, I am able to appreciate life even more.

I am happy to report we are both retired and ready to move on.
Our stats:
DH: October 10 at just 51 years
Me: October 16 at the end of 47

I owe quite a big thank you to this group. Just knowing everyone is out there with common (financial) goals, is a big plus. Ready to start the next phase.

Hope everything turns out OK, Snowcat... and welcome to ER.

I can only say that my first month of ER has probably been the happiest time of my adult life. I hope you experience the same.

Congrats--you beat us. I am retired about 2 weeks ago, but my wife still has 3 more work days--Tuesday is her last day!

Tuesday will be here before she knows it. Congrats to both of you.

I guess my tentative turned into a nope. Going to continue working at least a bit longer so I'll be able to keep working in case the market decides my single stock doesn't deserve to be where it is.
Feeling good about 2015, though.

Dropped my wife off at the ferry for her last commute day today!

She has a retirement party starting in a few hours that I will stop by at the end and roll her into the car (as I am quite sure she will be slightly intoxicated) and home from there. After today she is basically retired! She has agreed to be available one hour each day from 9 to 10 for a phone call if her replacement has a question. From now until Mid December she is using vacation days.

So we are both now done! Awesome dance
looking forward to our retirement days!
