It'd be nice if the weather would start getting its act together by the time daylight savings time begins this year, which is not far away (I think it's March 8, the weekend after next).

Yeah ha, I'm keeping all my saved daylight in a air tight container this year. Last year's leaked out. I love the later sunrise and sunset.

Last night was the coldest night this winter at -11.2°. But it could be the last night below zero this winter - no negative temps in the long term forecast. Time to get the boat, kayak, and bicycles ready.

sunny and cold here too. I have been after the propane company for a delivery all week. Our gauge now reads ZERO. They SAY they will deliver but have been saying that all week. Might be a blanket weekend!

An additional 3-6 inches of snow is forecasted for tonight into tomorrow morning . Boston needs 5 more inches to break the all time record of 107 inches.

Enough......

Well, February was officially the coldest month ever here with an average temp of 9 degrees. I'll have to look into how that's computed.
It never broke above freezing so the snow banks are looking record high too. I can no longer toss the snow over the bank at DGFs house and had to walk the shovel fulls to where a neighbor plowed the bank down.
Should be above freezing Wednesday. Hope for a slow non flooding thaw.

I was watching the snow and started looking at this thread. About 3500 posts ago, in December, someone commented they wanted the snow to go south. Well, it did. They got their wish 10 weeks late.

I don't believe the local and national meteorologists wishing for more snow to break the all time record when two more inches of snow would make additional buildings at risk of roof collapse. So far 200 roofs around here collapsed from the weight of snow.

Right now it is snowing heavily, we've got perhaps 4 or 5 inches, 5 to 9 forecast. Spring is supposed to be a few weeks away. At least it'll warm up later in the week and melt this stuff.

Blew away about 6" of global warming this morning. Looks like we are done with snow for the next week or two. A -4F morning is in the offing for tomorrow, then mostly low 30ies.

Just got inside from shoveling. Even though we have a big snow blower I really don't like to use it. It's built for a bigger person. Anyway, shoveled my drive and neighbor's twice today. Got all the snow off the trucks. Temps are suppose to really dip tonight so didn't want to fight with frozen doors tomorrow. Got about 8" of snow. Suppose to stop snowing around 6PM Good exercise day!

edit: I think this is the first time that my ponytail froze.

Wow!!! And I thought the temperatures were extreme here.

It was 86 yesterday, 80 at 1 AM or so when I went to bed.... and it's 39 now, and that's nowhere near as bad as at your location. It's been bad enough, though. There's a strong COLD wind blowing hard, too, that makes it feel like it's in the teens.

We have a freeze warning for tonight.

I surrender! Give us our warm weather back!
