Netflix movie or show suggestion

Stranger Things was good for those who like sci-fi ish stuff. It has some comedy relief in it also.

If you like super hero type shows for adults, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Nick Cage are good, in that order.

I watched one episode of Marco Polo and will go back to that later.

Yeah, the graphic parts were pretty bad, but it was the stupidity that ultimately got to me and made me decide no más!

I can see how some might find it uproariously funny.

I never mind a little stupidity once in a while , and I don't think this is uproariously funny, just reporting on what we've seen on the service.

I burst into laughter from this show WAY more than I should...

+1 for Stranger Things.

+1 for Man In the High Castle

The OA was interesting.

Watched Free State of Jones and really liked it. It is about a rebellion in Mississippi against the Confederacy in the years during and just after the Civil War. There is gory war footage and a depressing reminder of the government sponsored terrorism of the slaves and former slaves in that era, but it is really well done.

For great comedy, try Dreamland, it is an Australian series. Currently 2 seasons, we find it hysterical. Hope there is a 3rd season.

Recent drama we finished that was good was No Second Chance, it is in french so we used sub-titles.

Has anyone watched 'Sneaky Pete' with Giovanni Ribisi?

+1 I'm only half-way through with Season 1, but it's been excellent so far.

I finished 'The OA', but don't think I'll be tuning in for Season 2, which was apparently just green-lit.

My wife has been binging 'The Gilmore Girls' on Netflix, and I have to say, the writing on that show is really good. It's not anything I'd normally be interested in, but it's well done.

After 'Sneaky Pete', I'll probably start 'Bosch'.

Just finished season 1 of Homeland on Hulu. DW and I are enjoying it.
I finished season 2 of The Man in the High Castle. Can't wait for season 3.
Frontier on Netflix is pretty good.

+1 for Stranger Things.
The OA left me and my DH kind of upset, in a similar way I felt after watching the last episode of Lost.

Some of you are mixing Hulu, Netflix and Amazon in the same post....

I have enough trouble finding programs when I am looking on the correct streaming platform..have mercy please... this is list of Netflix programs:cool:

Me too--I'm the one searching three services because I can't remember which one has Agatha Raisin (Acorn via Amazon as it turns out)

Here is the Amazon suggestion thread http://www.early-retirement.org/forums/f27/amazon-prime-movie-suggestions-80219.html

I believe Sneaky Pete is an Amazon production.

Quantico is interesting, but not enough to keep my interest 100% on the story.

doesn't look like that one is on netflips streaming?

I think it used to be on Netflix, but now on Hulu. A British series "Kingdom" starring Stephen Fry. We find it delightful, and a relief not to have to deal with constant gunfire and gory special effects. He plays a solicitor in a small village in Norfolk.

(Sorry, I searched and couldn't find a "what's on Hulu" thread).

hulu is getting bigger maybe a Hulu thread would be useful .it would to me as I'm considering signing up for Hulu.

Just watched seasons 5 and 6 of the comedy TV series Portlandia. Not as fun as season one when it was all brand new to me, but still good, imo. Got it on dvd from my lib.

Woman in Gold
Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds
5*

Inside Job, a documentary of the 2008 financial meltdown, narrated by Matt Damon. A bit stilted but informative.

The Salvation - really good western, and Danish too
Frailty - Matthew M and Bill Paxton

+1 for Stranger Things

It falls apart if you think too hard about what is happening, but it is enjoyable suspensful-but-not-too-scary. Plus visiting the 80's again is always OK with me.
