Until recently our dog slept indoors. Now we got ourselves a kitten that slept outside,,,,until my wife took pity on her and wants her inside, what with the winter and all....;)
We brought the cat home because my wife :cool:thought -and insisted-it would chase away mice and it wouldn´t be another reponsability-they are such independent creatures.....
It turned out mice are still with us and the kitten barely goes outdoors, much preferring staying inside on our laps, beds, sofas, PC keyboards.....:whistle:
 
Our dog sleeps indoors. That is a DW thing. I'd have the mutt outside but it is a non-negotiable. No cat for us. That is a non-negotiable with me. Not a big fan of cats.
 
Our cat sleeps either outdoors or indoors.... according to where she ended up when we went to sleep...

Some times she wants to go outside for some reason... and does not want to come in... so she sleeps outside... but a few times has wanted to come in and eat and will go around the house meowing at every window until she can get someone to let her in...

Most of the time she is inside, sleeping with our young daughter...
 
vicente, you forgot one category and that is "in bed". Puppy must sleep in the bed. It (Chihuahua) used to sleep in the laundry room until it became very attached to DW. Like attached at the hip. It started to whimper in the laundry room so without telling me, DW put her in the bed. Two nights later she was in the bed again stirring around so I put her back in the laundry room. The little dog just wailed away so I got her back into the bedroom and scolded her and haven't heard a sound since.
 
Our dog sleeps inside. She has separation issues as it is (though not as bad as they used to be), and we like having an "early warning system" that barks at noises just outside the door. That last part was an even greater perk when we lived in Houston.
 
Yorshire Terrier, 6 pounds, sleeps indoors. We have to put a sweater on him when we take him for walks during the cold winter days.
 
My kitties always sleep indoors. They might consider sleeping outside if they had their food, litter box, couch with special blanket and chair. Of course there must be no noise and the temperature needs to be around 75 degrees....... :D
 
“Fluffy” the cat doesn’t have access to the great outdoors. Indoors she sleeps anywhere she wants except under the blankets as she understands the danger of rollover accidents. She has many choices: a bed-window seat; two beds on the couch, cushions under the bed and anywhere on top of the bed.

Our cats live and sleep indoors exclusively. The little darlings like their comfort. They don't sleep on our bed though, we lock them up in the kitchen/living room area at night. Otherwise they would be pawing on our faces at 4:00 am and we would wake up with this staring at us:

My lab (Coal) sleeps indoors, usually on the couch or his bed in the living room. I am surprised that he does not choose to sleep in the bedroom since he typically has to be right with me. He has a bed in the living room and another in the bedroom.
 
Casanova sleeps inside.....I don't let him outside at all.....too many crazy people and traffic in the world.
 
Dogs are social animals, they need to be with the pack inside. Unless you have an outside pack.

Personally, I think cats need to be inside so they don't kill the little birdies at my feeders. <grrrr> To many cats in our neighborhood. When they end up at the pound most are found positive for feline leukemia too. And unless your cat is "fixed" it will contribute to overpopulation by being outdoors.
 
Mine sleeps in my bedroom. She has two beds in that room and seems to rotate between them. For the last two nights she wanted out of the bedroom during the night...must be my snoring.
 
My kitties are kept indoors only! First of all, cats are much healthier and generally have a much longer lifespan if they are kept indoors. Plus, who wants them bringing in fleas, ticks, and goodness knows what else in the house?

Seriously, could you see this guy sleeping outside?

My 2 furry kids sleep in the bedroom, on their own separate dog beds.
If there is thunder, the Big Guy [-]big chicken on 4 legs[/-] creeps over to the floor right next to the bed, an infraction we allow only during the storm. Rocket Dog is fearless and stays put.
He snores and she yip-yips in her sleep. What a pair. :rolleyes:

Unfortunately, this kitty has been gone for 18 years, but I love this photo of her. She's not as fat as she looks...she's just sprawled....:)

Handsome kitties you have Purron - Here's our Grandpa cat Fub (Fat Under Belly) in the foreground and the always adorable Tuna.



We had to put Fubber down a few months ago - he was about 17 and had been the benevolent ruler of the outside cat herd for years. He became an indoor cat as he got feeble and deaf. After some strokes and going pretty blind it just got to be time. Tuna was a sweet and attentive girl to him till the end. She is an indoor sleeping cat as often as she can manage - likes sleeping cross-ways on the bed between us and stretching out as much as possible.

My bad attitude cat Blue would like to be an indoor cat - well, he's pretty peeved that we consider him a cat and his life really sucks, as he's often said - but peeing on my pillow three times earned him cata-non-grata status. Now he's only allowed inside if he's on my lap. This is one of the few pics of him that he doesn't have his middle finger extended:



Hah - just looked closer and he sneaked it in - left front hand!
 
No outdoor sleeping here! Our dog is definitely an indoor dog and sleeps at the end of the bed each and every night.

Our dog is part of the family and I wouldn't make him sleep outside anymore than I'd make a human member of the family sleep outside :). Actually, I take that back...I have an aunt that I really dislike who I WOULD make sleep outside :whistle:
 
Is that the new boy, Dawg? SO CUTE! I am so happy for you...and him!

All of mine come in at night and the cats have large loud disagreements periodically over who sleeps where on the bed (especially when it is cold). My cousin has been staying with us, so I've farmed a couple of the cats (there are six) to her bedroom.

The dogs sleep on Coolaroo dog beds, our five sleep in the bedroom and the foster dog Micah likes the Coolaroo in the living room.

All are fixed, vetted, and we live in a place with no traffic and no bird feeders! I like that they can go out during the day and come in for safety at night.
 
BBB---Awww, no, Tess would watch movies with us and hang around in the kitchen, but only rarely would she come into the bedroom. Thank goodness!

Kinda funny, though, if I took an afternoon nap, she'd wander in there and stare at me, giving me the old sheep breath until I woke up.

Fortunately she slept in her little house we built with the attached pen until her death. Otherwise, I'm sure she'd have slept inside!
