From 100 million to 4 million

His story is far more akin to that of a toothless, trailer-park denizen who buys a winning lottery ticket at the nearest liquor store. It says more about McAfee's hedonistic tendencies than about the decline of value. LBYM applies to those worth more than 100 Million, too.

No one cares about Kwai Chang Caine?

It sounds like one of those private moment accidents that you really don't want to have listed as your cause of death.

NYTimes economic reporter's big credit crisis

If she is going to get all this national publicity, she had better figure out the story of her credit card debt and how she is going to explain it. Seems like she must have had about $40K as far as I can guess.

NYTimes economic reporter's big credit crisis

I am mystified as to how this financial miscreant could expand his story into a "book". No review I have read states that he gives either a financial analysis of his situation, nor does he have a redemptive resolution to this. It's basically an expanded one-time article full of omissions...

NYTimes economic reporter's big credit crisis

Saw him briefly on CNBC last night. He was a weasel (no disrespect to our animal bretheren). He really did not seem to have any real insight or guilt about what he did. They mentioned he had also been on the Today show. So he is evidently out promoting his book. I hope his editors decide...

NYTimes economic reporter's big credit crisis

This article is good cautionary tale about second marriages. I agree with the comment that this is a story about personal relationships. He certainly wasn't honest with himself about planning for the future of this blended family. Both he and his wife had to sign all those mortage...

Affordable remote land in United States

Make sure and get any available information about water testing from wells in the area you look at before buying. A great deal of the well water in arid places in the the Great Basin like Nevada and Utah (which are basically dried-out ancient seabeds) is steeped in arsenic, selenium, uranium...

    One night to make decision

As others have said, your diagnosis of CLL makes the decision for you. I certainly don't like the way you were made privy to the other human resources issue for the other fellow, and made party to his termination. I would watch out for this company. Get all you can get from them. If they...

    Grand Canyon Trip 2009

On the South Rim, there is also a nice trail/walk that goes along the west road toward's Hermit's rest. You don't have to travel very far to be away from the crowds and have a chance to experience the beauty in solitude. I believe there is also a free bus that runs near the route in the summer...

    Grand Canyon Trip 2009

    1. April would be a good time for this trip, snow mostly gone, not too hot. 2. A week in GC? The GC is worth an overnight or two at most, as mentioned above, there are other outstanding parks/sights in this area to see. 3. It is imperative to get reservations for in-park lodgings as soon...

Hawaii deals or special events next week (Oahu/Maui)?

Yeah, too much stuff for such a short visit. The general rule of thumb is one island per week, so you've already got too much on your plate. Unless, you must do something every day and just don't want to spend time on beaches. As to Maui- Road to Hana is one full long day. Do you really...

    Lovin' my Wii Fit!

Sooo, how difficult is this Wii and the fun Bowling, Fit, Driving, etc to hook up to your TV? My TV is big and it's difficult to get to the back.

    Possible AIDS cure.........

The USA or the world could not possibly pay for bone marrow transplants to cure all the AIDS patients.

$350 per year to remain a patient?

I haven't read all the other posts, but the one physician who became a "concierge physician" in my area is not at all well regarded by his peers. He doesn't have hospital priviledges, so if you have to be hospitalized, you must pay someone else for the care.

    After the bailout....

I'm buying me a big 'ol mattress and pulling out the stuffing so at least I'll know where some of my money is. Half I'll fill with cash, half with shotgun shells.
