Do You Have an Air Fryer?

We also have the Ninja Foodie Digital Air Fryer Oven. It replaced a Breville toaster over which was wonderful but it was a basic model without convection so limited to baking and toasting. The Ninja does that plus air frying and dehydrating. I have a small kitchen so the fact that it folds up...

How Do You Get Live TV?

We use a Moho leaf antenna and get tons of free OTA channels. Additionally we have a Roku TV and the Roku Channel provides lots of live TV options. Interestingly enough, the only network station that doesn't come in on the antenna is Fox. We happen to like the weather guy on our local station...

    AFIB is a Progressive Disease

The Apple Watch (a smart wristwatch) is different from the Watchman device. The Apple Watch can detect abnormal heart rhythm - that's what he was referring to.

My "Best" Medigap options - Approval issues?

DH has been on the AARP UHC Medigap plan since he turned 65 almost 7 years ago. We signed him up for Plan F (no longer available) since he was more likely to need maximum health care coverage. I turned 65 last year and signed up with them also only plan N. We also got a discount for both of...

Anyone ditched the couch for a loveseat or just chairs?

A tale of caution: We ditched our couch for two recliners - I thought it would be great but there were several issues. For one, they took up a bit more room width wise than I would have guessed - fine if you have room, but we don't. Secondly, we bought these pretty nice Barcalounger rocker...

    is this rude ?

I've done a a lot of business on craigslist. Yes, the replies are anonymous to keep people from getting and selling your email address for spam. I try to feel them out first because Ive had a lot of spam and odd interactions where people seem like they are fishing for information. For...

My first experience with Atrial Fibrillation

I have experienced afib episodes - it runs in my family. I have a small portable EKG gizmo from Emay that I use to take readings. It's fairly inexpensive and amazingly accurate. There is a forum called afibbersrs.org that has an absolute wealth of resources and information. It's helped me...

    Noritake China

I had a really nice set of china - replacements.com was selling dinner plates for $10 each and I had a lot of the serving pieces that were selling in the $20-$35 range. I tried putting them on eBay at $5 each with the seller paying shipping and got zero bids. I ended up offering them up on my...

Has anybody reinvented the can opener?

Kitchenaid makes a pretty decent manual one for those of us with arthritic hands. I bought one at a discount store (like Marshalls) because it was orange and matched my kitchen, but liked it so much I've bought them as gifts...

    Sous Vide anyone?

I love my Joule sous vide. I initially bought it thinking I would use it for tougher cuts of meat, but I've found that I prefer a melt in your mouth pot roast from the Instant Pot in less than 2 hours than a medium rare roast that looks pretty at 36 hours in the sous vide. What I have found...

    Air Fryer recommendations

I bought a Philips that was on sale at Costco for $99 right before the big surge of other brands on the market. I Joined a facebook group for Air Fryer recipes and was truly amazed at the things people do with theirs. Mine however sits mostly unused because I have a convection oven, a Breville...

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) 2017 - 2020

Well it looks like Spectrum caught on to the fact that people were dumping them for other live streaming services. I got a letter today with an offer for their new streaming-only package with 60 channels for $14.99 a month. It also includes on demand programming but cloud DVR service is an...

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) 2017 - 2020

I thought the regular plan was $7.99 and the commercial free was $11.99 - maybe you have an intro rate or something? I suppose the Playon would be the same thing at a lower overall cost. Nevermind. ;D

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) 2017 - 2020

If you can afford it in your budget, I highly recommend the Hulu plus without commercials for an extra $4 a month. Totally worth it to me!

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) 2017 - 2020

We bought the Roku Premiere streaming stick the year it came out. We've had so many problems with the remote that we put our old Roku 3 on that TV. It’s a shame since the stick is now on a 720p TV and the Roku 3 is attached to a 4K.
