    This is why

You are all free to NOT take advantage of the potential of the market. I won't lose sleep over it. I shared my thoughts on why I do it and I'm sure millions of other people are investing in individual stocks for the same reason. Potential. Why so many of you get upset is ridiculous...

    This is why

An individual stock has given me an unrealized gain of over 600% in a year and a half's time. Not typical, yet not unheard of. Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how long it would have taken to grow to the same amount if I had invested that initial amount into a reasonable index fund. @8.5%...

Peter Lynch video: Lesson from an investing legend

Was listening to Peter Lynch audiobook "One Up on Wall Street" and I really liked this statement: "A share of stock is not a lottery ticket. It's part ownership of a business."

Hi and I want Go-Big-Or-Go-Home Investment Ideas for My Roth IRA

My suggestions are TSLA, TQQQ and the new ETF soon to come out ARKB. The potential of Tesla is enormous. They are scaling quickly, innovative and disrupting the car industry. TQQQ seeks to triple the daily return of the Nasdaq 100 so is very aggressive. The past five year return is...

    Contemplating dropping to part time

When I first got to my FI number, I wasn't mentally ready for the transition, so I decided a slow transition would help. It's very overwhelming to go from getting a paycheck from a job to getting your paycheck from yourself via your savings and investments. I dropped from 40 hours to 32...

Trying to eliminate Acid Reflux naturally

I use sodium bicarbonate (Baking Soda) for heartburn and acid indigestion. Even says that's one of its uses on the side of the box, never noticed that before. Half a teaspoon in a glass of water does the trick in 30 seconds. Some problems we have as we get older are due to decreased stomach...

    Anyone go through retirement Hell?

A few years ago, I told a coworker that I would be retiring early and she said, "well, won't you get bored?" I said, "I don't come to work to keep from getting bored." And I thought to myself, "who does that??", although I do know some people actually do, I can't see myself doing it. I told...

    Do you schedule your days?

I think a lot of things, tasks, etc. get overlooked, neglected, put off while we are busy working a job and balancing family. So I think it's normal to have clutter tasks become more apparent after slowing down. There's always something that COULD be done... perhaps in little time, all that...

    ROKU situation …

Unless I found an even better investment or needed the money, I would not consider selling an investment that was doing well and that I believed in over the long term. It appears that Roku has already gone up by over 20x since IPO in 2017. Could turn out to be a 100 bagger eventually. I'm a...

Did anyone buy any individual stock yesterday as the Dow fell 725 points?

Like I originally stated, I was curious. Not enough talk about stocks in here. Thanks to all of you for your responses!

Did anyone buy any individual stock yesterday as the Dow fell 725 points?

Was just curious if anyone bought into the market yesterday or is planning to as the Dow has fallen? What have you got on your radar?

    Sunday night gratitude

One of the best feelings in the world is waking up and realizing you don't have to go to work. It never gets old. It's in my top ten for sure.

Go Go to Slow Go... when did/has it happened to you?

I haven't started the blow that dough phase yet. I think I can comfortably do that when I reach millionaire status. I hope to make a large purchase then. In the meantime, I'm working on my health so that I can actually enjoy it when I get to it. I'm 57, just retired 7 months ago.
