Renting sounds good for sure. Really we are most interested for now in small trips to parks within 150 miles of where we live...and might as well rent to do that. We are also a little pinned down with family caregiving in our house and can't travel much now anyway. Dreaming a little and...

I always wonder if we should steer away from Mercedes due to higher cost of maintenance or is that different than autos? I always loved my uncle's Mercedes cars back in the 70s, but am too cheap now to pay for the high $ upkeep.

Our friend had a lifetime Senior pass ($80) for parks from USGS store. He ends up paying I think $12 night for electric and services (bathroom) at parks...

We're pondering getting an RV. Just curious who has one and how they like it? It would mostly just be me and the DW and 4 dogs (15-30 lbs)...tooling around the south in small chunks. I also like that it would be living quarters when we lose power (instead of buying a whole house generator). We...

2023 taxes - inherited ira question

it was a very old traditional IRA that didn't have any post tax contributions or any contributions beyond dividends reinvested since before 1990 probably - all individual, dividend paying stocks. I took out 15% last February and it already made that back (which is very cool)

2023 taxes - inherited ira question

Hello, My mom passed away in late 2022 and I took a good sized distribution from her IRA that I inerited (I think I took 15%, since I'm not on SS yet). As I am looking at my 2023 tax calculations, I am wondering about exactly what is taxed on this money. I withheld 10% of the distribtion, but...
