55 Days--almost enough time to slowly drive and hike around New Zealand.

Wow. Great trip. I’m not much of a traveler but NZ is a country I would love to see.

Medigap Shopping: Closing the Book & Rate Increases

I wonder what the odds are this loophole gets closed? My new rate will be $175/mo in July(turning 70) which is not horrible compared to rates I've seen posted by others but I would hate to miss the opportunity to use it as you know rates will certainly escalate as the pool is reduced going...

Activity might be the most important thing.

I get my exercise but by nature I probably lean more in this direction.

Medigap Shopping: Closing the Book & Rate Increases

This confirms info I received from my Medigap company. Below is a copy/paste from their website. "If you cancel your Medigap policy to join a Medicare Advantage Plan for the first time, you’ll have a single 12-month period (your trial right period) to return to Original Medicare and reapply for...

Restaurant adding fee for use of credit card

I’m seeing it more. Golf clubs have started adding it to green fees when paying with cc. There is a local tire shop that adds it to the bill for new tires. Credit cards have been in use forever and most buried into their price. Why all of a sudden has this spread to all kinds of businesses? I’ve...

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) - 2021 version

Peacock and Hulu are ones that I have been able to find deals on around holiday time. Last Fall I paid $40 for a year of Peacock and Hulu @ $1/mo for a year. Pretty cheap entertainment even with ads but the ads are about 1.5 minutes in length so tolerable.

Good friend just died of Pancreatic Cancer

A cousin of mine went quickly too. But my old college roommate had his pc discovered when checking for something else. Had surgery and 5 years later is doing well. He’s extremely lucky.

What was your happiest moment today?

Thanks. I was proud of it. That’s as good as I can do(which is rare) when I play a lot. Crazy game.

What was your happiest moment today?

Yesterday my happiest moment was playing golf with friends. I hadn’t played in a month but shot 74 and had 2 birdies and an eagle. Playing less seems to help me as I have no expectations and just play more free. Our team still lost but that’s ok.

Forum Update - We're back! Ask your questions here.

Oh ok. On other forums I belong to I don't get that when ads are blocked. But not a biggie. Edit: I only get this on my Chromebook. Nothing on my IPad so I can use it if it bothers me. I’m actually using it more….no sure why I picked up the cb this morning. Ha

I'm getting the same thing. Would like for that to go away. Otherwise I like everything.

shameless ask for praise for walking

I have a pair of Brooks Revel and they feel great on walks. But I may try the Adrenaline next time as the specs seem to cater to PF more than what I have. When I bought them it was a pair I saw in a store and they felt good so I bought them. I have/had PF but after buying a pair of Oofos...

Long Wait Time to get Appointment with Dermatologist

I have a great dermatologist. Last year I had a nagging squamous cell taken off my arm and it was slow to heal. He gave me his cell number and I sent him weekly pics of it. I think I'm just a slow healer as I had another one cut off my face recently and the darn thing drained for almost a month...

Anyone else NOT watch the news?

I watch local news which also carries some national news. It’s mostly unbiased. I also watch some financial news and will turn on a NW news channel when there is a true breaking news event taking place. And I pick up news through various online sites.

What If Fed Rate Hikes Are Actually Sparking US Economic Boom?

My parents were an example of this. Their nest egg grew greatly in the double digit interest rate days. No stocks. They saved and my mom was very frugal in how she shopped.
