How far in advance of retirement should you start shopping for health insurance. DW and myself are turning 62 in January and will need coverage until 65.

I live in and plan to live in Pennsylvania.

I was advised by insurance agent that some companies will not underwrite individual diagnosed with BE. Would be curious to know others experience in getting Health Ins and what would be best route to follow. Looking to ER in 2010 @ age 60.

Thanks to all for replies. However I need to correct pension amounts are in pre tax dollars. I currently live in state that does not tax pensions. Only subject to frderal, estimating net @ 80K. Not sure if this changes previous threads.
