How is Tesla handling FSD if you get a speeding ticket? Are you responsible for the car exceeding the speed limit or is Tesla? I ask this because on our current cross country trip, we have passed through several speed traps where Google claimed the speed limit was 65, or 55, or some number...

Total Solar Eclipse April 8, 2024

It was pretty close to perfect in Cape Girardeau, MO. We had a tad over 4 min of totality and clear sunny sky. This was my first total eclipse and WOW. I did not expect the sunset in every direction either, that was very cool. We are already back in our hotel in TN, took about 2 hours to...

We are in Cape Girardeau, MO. Sunny skies, a few wsipy clouds that I think will go away. I took a pic through the shade 14 welding goggles at iso400 of the sun this morning here.

    Electric Vehicles - Models Discussion

Overall I think self driving will save lives but there will be the edge cases where a person could make a better decision (such as recognizing that a person or object is likely to do an unexpected behavior). Statistically though, the self driving vehicle will react better to most situations but...

    So grateful for the ACA

If ACA would not have come available, we likely would have put off retirement and stayed at Microsoft. Thus the ACA has cost us about $5,000,000 or so.

    2024 Travel Plans

We were planning on heading toward Cape Coral, Florida after this stay in Texas, but it looks like it is hot there in a few weeks (mid 80s). I am more of a high 60s low 70s person now after decades in Washington state, even though I grew up in Georgia. I wonder if the Outer Banks, NC would be...

Considering a retirement move out of town/state

on the "it is refreshing to throw everything out", while it is, we ended up buying a lot of that stuff again when our plans changed. I tossed a nice tool chest, air compressor, shelving, walnut kitchen table, on and on, and have had to repurchase most of those at our new house.
