Goonie

I retired early, at age 50, after 32 years in Public Service. That past employment was merely a means to fund my addiction to living and enjoying a rich and fulfilling life!

I enjoy traveling, model railroading, reading, cooking, gardening & landscaping, genealogy, socializing with old friends, and meeting new friends. I also have an extensive home library of several thousand books, covering just about every topic from ancestry to zoology. And coffee....I thoroughly enjoy coffee, and it's a part of most the activities that I enjoy! ;^)

I'm single, never married (by MY choice), no kids. I have a very large social circle of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds, and a few (very few) very close friends.

I'm the sole care-giver for my elderly, but fairly active and independent, Mom, here on the old family homestead. I do almost all of the cooking and grocery shopping, as well as all of the outdoor work and gardening. Ma does the laundry and house cleaning.

Very independent, very opinionated, yet very reserved. I know how & when to keep my mouth shut....and some times I actually do!

Having been overweight for a good portion of my adult life, in the past year or so, I've become very active and health conscious. Through consistent healthy eating habits and daily exercise, I've lost 70 pounds over the past year, and am on track to lose another 50. My goal, besides not dying, is to get my weight, BMI, cholesterol, blood pressure, and triglycerides down to where they should be.....without meds!

Thus far, my triglyde med has been cut in half! B/P is consistently 114/60 (using meds). LDL, HDL, and Total Cholesterol are now in the normal range!!! All other blood work results are in the normal range as well.

LIFE IS GREAT!!!
