    the hardest part of early retiring is simple taking that leap of faith... having been ER for a bit over 3 years on much less than you claim I can only tell you it is the best thing we could have done... Enjoy Life!

    nearly 2 years and 8 months we both retired early at age 55, sold our house and all our crap and hit the road in our RV, our biggest concern with no pensions was money (as with most others) - well after nearly three years we have invested well and are only 8k shy of the total amount we retired...

    We spent 365 nights in our RV last year and the year before as we are full timers in ours, sold the house and all the belongings except what is in our motorhome and like others here we stay about 75% of of our nights in "mom & pop" RV parks and 25% in State/COE/Fairgrounds and National Parks...

    I fit into this category... I ER'ed in march 2011 at the age of 55 with about 800K. Neither my wife nor I have a pension, but will have SS. - Started saving hard in my late 40's putting 20 percent of salary into ROTH, and 403b also had a 401K, wife had no 401K but got bonuses at xmas we used...

    all I can you all of you is that after our stop at the Mayo clinic to get our bloodwork done I wondered whose bloodwork numbers I got... all our numbers are way down... you think it could have been stress? Hah!!!

    well we have been retired 6 months plus and have been on the road full time in our motorhome and have been loving every minute of it (except when I turn on the TV to watch CNBC) so for those of you on the edge get out here in ER land... it's great!!!

    yes indeed life is good, we have been sitting down in the lower Florida Keys for the past month in our RV and will be heading to Melbourne on Friday for a bit before heading to the northeast and we too love Mondays now...
