Wendy's to add surge pricing to menu items.

Best comment. I've already plagiarized it.

    I got phished

Couple of tells in the 2nd sentence of the message itself. The common noun "phone" is capitalized and the wording of the sentence is unprofessional sounding.

Problem getting AARP/UHC Medigap G policy

More good news is UHC called yesterday to tell me I have coverage. I wouldn't call everything sorted out yet because there are still some odd things going on. But I was able to log on to UHC and see the supplemental plan. I'm going to wait a bit and see if any of the new issues magically correct...

Problem getting AARP/UHC Medigap G policy

RIGHT! Actually what came to mind is the guy who euthanizes the dogs at the pound. It sucks to be the dog!

Problem getting AARP/UHC Medigap G policy

Yes, I have a former work colleague who used them to get the AARP/UHC Plan N and also had no issues. And I do have Parts A, B and D. I've decided everything is going to work out eventually. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Problem getting AARP/UHC Medigap G policy

Thanks for this. I decided tonight that I am not going to have any major health problems until they get this straightened out. And they are working on getting the application backdated. Its all gonna be good. As a born and bred pessimist it is hard for me to say that!

Problem getting AARP/UHC Medigap G policy

I posted over on bogleheads about an issue I am having getting an AARP/UHC Medigap G policy issued. I am required to use Via Benefits to purchase the policy and somehow they have screwed it up. From the Via Benefits website I can see the policy has been "submitted to the carrier". But in a 3-way...

Herd Immunity in the US out of Reach

Thank you for mentioning blood clots. My wife has a genetic blood clotting condition called Factor 5 Leiden (FVL). Once it became known that blood clots were common in COVID infections she immediately scheduled her vaccinations (within the state guidelines of course). Both of our children...

    Online banking security

We use VPN Unlimited from KeepSolid on our iPhones and have not noticed slowness. There was a deal 2 years ago for a lifetime subscription for $29 that lets us have 5 devices connected. We only really use it on the iPhones when traveling. Sometimes I fire it up on a computer when I am really...

    Should RMDs really scare you?

Time2, this is exactly the process I went through last year and this year. I have a small pension so the withdrawals I can make and spend or Roth convert is about $72,000 in the 12% bracket. Unfortunately I "have" to spend most of that so I only ended up converting around 22K to Roth this year...

    IRA to Roth IRA conversions

Maybe an obvious question for folks here... How do you do an estimated payment? I have never done estimated taxes where you pay quarterly. I did a Roth conversion last year (first full year of retirement) and ended up under withheld so I had a small penalty. I'd like to avoid that this year. It...

Memories of Workplace Philosophy Theories Past

I was cleaning out my desk before leaving my first real job (I had been there 16 years which was a long time at that company). I really liked working there but after the founder died they brought in "professional management", so the last few years were sad and painful. I decided to leave my...
