    What about colleagues?

I've been retired for almost two years. It's about what I expected - the people I really cared about, I've stayed in touch. The others only stay in touch when they need something. I'm not fond of calling the workplace a "family" - you don't usually cut people out of your family. "Team" is...

FIRE Checklist - what would be on your list?

Timing of retirement makes a difference in some Megacorps. Make sure you maximize payments from Megacorp to your retirement plans. In my Megacorp, if you worked 1000 hours in a year, you received payment to your plan. If you worked less, you got nothing. I left just after I had accumulated...

    Advice on Acceptance

Yes there are still people having large families. Once had a staff member I had just hired whose stated objective (not to me) was to have 6 children quickly, and she serious about it. Do some religions encourage large families?

    Advice on Acceptance

Tough situation. I have watched both of our kids date people that I thought were just awful. Thankfully they never married any of them. Just about bit entirely through my lip to keep my mouth shut. Only time I said anything was when I found out one of the boyfriends had a criminal...

How much time a week do you spend on investments

Probably about an hour per day reading and researching new ideas. But I enjoy doing this, did it for years before I retired, and continue to do so. Check in with the indexes several times a day on my smartphone.

    New electrical panel?

Excellent point, NW - the breakers are the problem. And I believe you are correct that no one makes a breaker to replace all of the FPE breakers, enabling the re-use of the panel. That said, I believe most of the cost of the equipment is in the breakers, so there might not be much in the way...
