How to get stock/bond prices into excel

I pull stock data, including price, dividends, etc., directly into Excel and it doesn't cost anything. I think it may be a free Microsoft service but it's been so long ago that I implemented it that I don't remember for sure. I will try to noodle it out. For example, if the symbol is in A309...

    QCD confused

With Fidelity, I make a qcd request online and they issue the check. So they know and report it as such.

Anyone else NOT watch the news?

Gave up on MSM years ago. As others have said, I curate my news from various online sources.

    Latest Inflation Numbers and Discussion

Just anecdotal, but DD is a financial secretary with a small non-profit and she just submitted a $90,000 claim for Covid relief money. This is for an organization with three full timers and 3-4 part timers. I'm sure the ask for bigger businesses would be much more. Have no idea of when these $$...

    Vacation home/cabin use?

We bought a lake house 22 years ago when we were in the mid-fifties. It's about 1/2 hour away and I think it's been key for us that it is that close. We went out there yesterday for the eclipse, for example. Another aspect is that we bought half and our two local kids chipped in for 25% each. We...

USB-C on cell phone to USB-A on computer to transfer data. Easy?

I've often heard that one should beware of cheap USB cables as they scrimp on the negotiation circuitry and have been known to damage devices. Not sure if that's true anymore but I think there were many problems with the early USB-C cables.

Diaries, Journals, Logs - do you keep them, and why and how?

Started a journal during covid initially to help with contact tracing. Have continued it and found it somewhat useful when the questions arise like "When did we ...?" or "Who came to the ...?" or "How long has it been since ...?" My father had a journal back in the 1920's and while a lot of the...

Update on Cord Cutting (Cable TV) - 2021 version

Me too. Some folks we know have them mounted up high, often above a fireplace, which I think is terrible, but, as you say "to each his own."

Here we go again, it’s Daylight Saving Time

I'm probably in the minority but I would prefer standard time all year round. I walk at 6:30 every morning and much of the year it's dark. It's just starting to be light now and we will change clocks and I'll be walking in the dark again. Oh well, I'm use to it.

    Scam artists

A few years back, BIL was about to pull out of a gas station when he was approached by a guy with a sad story about needed $$ for gas to get home to his family. BIL gave him $20 but when he left the gas station he pulled over out of sight but where he could watch the guy. They guy didn't get gas...

    Accountable Care Organization

We just received a vague notice from the Medical Group where we receive much of our health care that they are part of an Accountable Care Organization. I think we may have heard something about this in the past but there was something a bit defensive about this notice that perked my interest...
