    Chasing retirement

I like your philosophy Cobra9777 - reminds me of my own. We are 49 and saving 20+% and paying for kids school & college now. Will be ready to retire by 59, hoping to go part time when college is done in 2022. If happy with part time can continue for awhile. We will see.

One Million in Retirement Funds, Can I go Part time now?

These are all very good points. I am accelerating the savings plan now and buckling down on the budget. Thanks for all your ideas. If we can demonstrate the ability to live on less, then that is the time to do it.

One Million in Retirement Funds, Can I go Part time now?

I work 80-120 hours a week, contemplating cutting back if possible. Am an MD age 45. Would like to keep contributing 50 K yearly to retirement fund for another 10 years or so (index funds Vanguard mostly) and then cut down even more at age 55. Have 4 years left on mortgage and 2 teens (14 and...

    Retired Doctor 1 year anniversary

So when did you pay off your mortgage/kids college/etc.? I am in the process of paying down my mortgage in 2-3 years, and finishing up college funding for 2 kids in 4-5 years myself. Then things will get a lot easier.
