    Desktop Computer Backup

OneDrive I’ve moved everything to the MS Cloud. I’m a retired IT PM and after visiting MS and learning that OneDrive has a data retention level of 12 Nines, meaning they will have your data 99.999999999999% of the time, I knew my home backup retention could not cover that. Bundled with O365...

    Prepping for Long Distance Move

CT to FL — in the middle I’m in the middle of my move right now. Doing 1 PackRat 16’, 1 U-Box. Also shipping an SUV on a car-hauler and he lets packing up to the windows. So all fragile items are going in the shipped car. Had College-Hunks move heavy furniture into PackRat. Then 100 boxes...

    Flu Shots 2020

I’ve received a flu shot 28 years in a row, except for a few years ago when the had the Vaccine shortage. Once or twice I felt tired after getting it. Never had the debilitating flu that I did once have before I started getting the vaccine. The vaccine strain may not be 100% right, but gives...

    Who changed it to 20%

We are typically 20%, but now that many cities/states are no longer, or are looking into, exempting tippable job roles from the minimum wage ($15+/hr) rules I think this rate may eventually go back down to 15% as costs for patrons increase. Or I'm going to need to start and work as a server....

ACA question due to likely job loss

For your son take a look at the College's Healthcare Plan. We may be retiring while my son is in college and between COBRA and ACA I think his college plan will be cheaper for him/us. I'm not sure if college plans support qualifying events, but you would think they would.

    Minimum Dignity Floor

I listen to their podcast and I am currently a client in the final phase of my retirement analysis presentation. I also was not recommended an annuity or life insurance products. Our two social security payments will cover our MDF needs. So from an MDF perspective we are in good shape. I am...
