Activity might be the most important thing.

This is my position also. I believe I've even stated here in the past. People who are capable of exercising, exercise. People age at different rates. This is axiomatic and observable Quoting study results about longevity and exercise is laughable. Somewhere on this forum is a link to a Dr in...

    First million is enough

Funny, I do the same thing. I also wonder about the people claiming the high numbers

    First million is enough

In my case I do not "choose" a number, I just spend what I need and I guess I don't need much. Grew up with not much constantly hearing grown-ups in constant fear of "What are we gonna do if (almost anything) happens! "We can't AFFOOOOORD IT! But all the while bitching about standard of...

    First million is enough

Just checked. I've hovered right around $16,000 - $17,00 per year core expenses except for about 10 yrs ago my books show 3 yrs at $19,000-$20,000. Have no idea why those years showed an uptick? Even the year I had the house sided + some other work I only got up to $26,000.

What is your pet peeve of the day? -- 2021

I'm surprised they still make them at all. Nowadays everything's on the cell phone or the satellite thing in your car. I loved those old Rand McNally road atlases. I still have one from 2008 and 1993.

New cardiologist not care about my cholesterol

I'm surprised they don't mention their therapists. Millions for physical health but not a penny for obsessive-compulsive disorder or Illness Anxiety Disorder?

    For Musicans - Music Notation

I thought it was extremely interesting. I knew about Tabs because I play a little guitar but was unaware that so many alternate methods of music notation had been invented and tried over the years.

    2024 Umbrella Policy costs

$130.00 for 1 million but the new policy will start in May so I should be getting a heads-up on any increases in the next few weeks. I don;t expect it to be much if any.

Why are older Americans drinking so much

I am a little surprised they noticed an uptick. Throughout my life one thing I've noticed is that people, my more or less, peers, people who would be "old" now, could never seem to engage in any activity including sitting still without alcohol. And now that they're old they're drinking even...

The Eagles - Lip Syncing? Milli Vanilli redux?

Thanks for posting this. I used to watch this guy a lot but sort of drifted away for some reason. I think it comes down to what you mentioned. The Eagles sound too good for their age. Ergo for their age they sound like old guys. Probably lots of "wobble" in the mid range and strained or...

    Fasting for Health? Obstacles.

I lived in Germany, been to Switzerland and Austria and Netherlands. The all do it. Shut down for 2 hours for lunch. (Maybe they don't sleep like Spanish but it shuts down) Eat late. Go to bed on what I would think is a full stomach.

    My Recent Calcium CT Scan

I had one done circa 2007 or so. It was $400 then. I'm sure they're a bit cheaper nowadays and probably more refined too.

Here we go again, it’s Daylight Saving Time

I have no actual complaints with it. It's only and hour. The problem I ever had with it was when I was working. Always seemed to be on a night shift the night they changed the clocks BACK in the Fall, thus causing me to have to work the extra hour. As far as diddling with clocks... the...

Here we go again, it’s Daylight Saving Time

Well, ya know some years back they shortened the calendar time for Standard Time and lengthened it for Daylight Saving Time. So, instead of 6 months - 6 months it's more like 4 months - 8 months. So, yes this time of year it really is "That time..AGAIN?!"
