Vanguard executives have just issued a statement saying that deflation is a real risk for the global economy, but didn't seem to be concerned with the U.S. economy. If global deflation should become a problem, how will this impact our investments?

We've been retired for 8 years. We have absolutely no problem obtaining new credit. We use social security, pension, rental income and monthly withdrawal from our IRA as income.

My friend's 403 (b) is with AXA. It is not in any way associated with the state. She will be collecting CALSTRS, a California pension. In this state, you are allowed to earn up to $40,000 without losing any pension benefits.
A friend of mine who is 55 years old will be retiring from a school district in June and will begin collecting a pension at that time. She will then do occasional substitute teaching.
She would like to withdraw money from her 403(b) as soon as she retires. Under section 72 (t) of the IRS code...
I think Genworth may be trying to hide something. Why did they not disclose the actual number of retirees? Instead they lumped them together with pre-retirees.
Genworth states they used: "A quantitative online survey of 1,340 retired consumers and pre-retirees"
