......but I don't work here anymore.

    Hey, now! (Thoroughly entertaining thread.)

14.6%. Roughly 65/35. Still under water compared to 1/1/22. Got close, then dunked again.

Forced to check carry on, no more room in overhead

Hard sided bags are just asking for it these days. I only carry soft bags, generally ignore the request to check the bag. I have never been called on that. There's always room somewhere to stuff it. Even on small planes where everyone has to check their hard sided bags I just smile, walk on...

    Cramer Gem

The return after the 2nd bend point is very low. It is where SS gets the money to redistribute those monies to the initial (very high) slope, SSDI, SSI, etc. From a pure ROI point of view it's probably mathematically best to retire right at the 2nd bend point.

what do you spend on hobbies, in retirement?

$4k is a very medium range bike. New gravel bike I just bought came to $4k and it was anything but high end (GRX600 mechanical). And that was cheap compared to similar offerings from big companies. Bikes are bloody expensive these days. That said my new steed rocks - love it.

YTD +8.4% 70/30 Bonds snapped back and boosted things. 1 year -7% still. S&P down -9.5% in the same timeframe, so seems to be tracking with AA.

We are entering a "Golden Period" for fixed income investing

Thanks for the note. When was the offering period (or, in general, when are the offering periods prior to issue date)? I have been watching this for a couple weeks (since Fidelity had it listed) and never saw it available.

We are entering a "Golden Period" for fixed income investing

Dumb question - today is the issue date for this, but Fidelity has none. Does it take them a bit to get some?

    What was your greatest epiphany?

I did that with stamp tweezers. They fit perfect. Let's just say the parental units were not happy with that one.

    The Cryptocurrency Thread 2

The London upgrade to Ethereum introduced a burn mechanism. Basically ETH is created by the folks who mine it to validate transactions and the burn takes coins out of circulation. You can see the coin supply over time here: https://etherscan.io/chart/ethersupplygrowth That article indicated...

ETH is currently deflationary. Absent other market forces this is a good development.

    Fidelity Retirement Analysis Tool

I find FireCalc to be massively optimistic and not terribly useful. Fidelity is much more realistic and matches some good tools like Pralana. It also matches the tool I've built reasonably well, so it has a level of validation on my end.

    Mid Life Crisis

A 3x increase in price is a great reason for a low cap rate! I guess the biggest question is do you want a part time job once you're done with the full time job? Even with a management company it takes significant effort (as I'm sure you know) to keep those rentals going. We had a beach...

    Mid Life Crisis

This is a pretty poor return on invested capital here. RE prices are sky high right now; selling some of this should be looked into.
