Crossed over the $500k mark in total contributions all time. Kinda crazy to think an annual swing in total accounts value could approach that number. Not looking like the plus side this year though...
You say you don't have much cash on hand. Do you have 3-6 months emergency fund or investments that are liquid enough to cash in if an emergency arises?
Interest rates suck right now but for me personally having a nice cash cushion helps me sleep well. YMMV

Household networth crossed that first arbitrary multi-comma value. 87% in liquid assets. Celebrating with sloppy joes, tator tots, and boxed wine. Shooting for FIRE at 2030 at 45
That'd be over a 30% gain annually. I believe the only time in the history of the DOW you would've been able to see those returns were if you bought in 1923 and sold before the crash in '29. 50k is possible though I doubt it, I dont' think 100k will be seen until decades later.
As of today we've maxed out our 2015 tax advantage retirement space for the first time ever. We saved about 26% of gross(includes employer contributions) while having a second child.
Winning ticket sold 3 miles from my house. Not my ticket.... I can say with fairly high confidence that this will be the closest I come to ever winning. :)
