    Medicare Deductible Overpayment?

This may have happened to me. I just got a refund check from my doctor with no explanation.

Wow. Did you use up all your battery and have to get towed?

I thought you might think that with your long drive. After having FSD V11.4 going back to basic autopilot seemed scary. Glad to hear that you had similar thoughts so I know it was not my imagination.

Tesla just dropped the FSD subscription price to $99/month. I would subscribe but my 2024.8 software level is still waiting for the free month.

    About death and money

The PP I got for stepdad earned interest until it was used. Maybe 1099-INT? I am going to call later to ask if we will get one.

Now that you mention it I remembered that my Velcro Gets Sandler from 2002 still work fine.

    Velcro shoe ties

I bought a pair of new balance walkers with the Velcro closures. When the shoe lace on my previous pair broke I could just replace it. I am wondering if the usable life of the Velcro shoes will be less because of the Velcro wearing out and not gripping properly?

    Free COVID tests available again....

Could it be that the test is ok despite the date if the control line comes in nice and sharp?

    Buying a New Car

Since the battery life seems to be ok, you might consider looking for a used Tesla Model 3 or Y with 30 or 40 thousand miles but that has FSD included with the car. I have seen some posts on X showing such a car in the low $20s. Good way to get $12,000 FSD for free. Of course after credits...

FSD 11.4 saved me at least 3 times during my 100 mile a day two month drives. In one town there are a lot of pot holes on main street and while I was watching for them a car five or six ahead came to a full stop to make a left turn. FSD stopped before I even knew what was happening. Best case...

On my road people walk 3 abreast blocking the car lane. One day with 11.4 I let the Tesla decide what to do. It headed towards the walkers, then slowed and stopped. I hit the accelerator to get it to move after they moved to the side of the road. The Tesla took a 90 degree left turn into a...

If you think it is doing something wrong you should disengage and then record a voice msg saying why. That will help them to improve it. If there is a white line at the stop sign the law says you should stop there even if you can't see. V11 obeyed this.

Reacting to one comment by Midpack. I saw a discussion a while ago that same that every situation is new to the FSD neural network. It does not remember previous situations. Each time you turn at the end of your street the NN treats it as a separate problem and can come up with a slightly...

That is my problem. I stay home most of the time so it is hard to justify the $200/month. I suppose the same logic applies to buying the Tesla in the first place. But at the time I was worried about my old car cooking out while driving the parents. With them gone I now have the old Acura...

This quarter they had some unexpected problems such as the two week supply cutoff due to the red sea and the shutdown due to the attack on the power to Berlin. Since there is a lead time to ship cars for delivery a shut down at the wrong time can leave the cars in transit at the end of the...

I agree that the turn signal is nice. I drove with autopilot since I had cancelled FSD. It really bothered me not to have that feature. I guess you will be stuck with FSD from now on. Another thing I noticed was that I did not quite trust autopilot after being used to FSD.

I drove about 4000 miles last fall (110 per day) with 11.4 and half was on 2 lane roads. 12 is supposedly a lot better. I would give 11.4 an 80% rating off the highway. I drove the same route every day for two months and learned to disengage at certain places. The most common was making a...

If you decide to subscribe right before your trip and have to wait for the latest stuff to be downloaded you still get the basic FSD that works fine on highways. The FSD beta is the one that runs on city streets. For a long trip on highways the basic FSD is still useful and nicer than...

Changing lanes is nice on highway as long as it is not super crowded where it needs to be in the correct lane a mile early or else can't fight its way in. For long trips in unfamiliar routes the navigate on autopilot is nice because it makes sure you don't miss an interchange because you were...

Has anyone gotten Tesla FSD 12.3 yet? Or the one free month that they are giving out this week? On X it said that every car capable of FSD will get a free month. I previously had subscribed and now seem to have 2024.8 version that is ahead of the FSD builds. So I have not gotten anything...

    Tax Filing Sale of House

Thanks. Since I already entered everything into turbo tax I may as well file the return to report the deaths as you suggest. I think my TT comes with up to 5 federal submissions but will charge me $25 to submit state, which seems worth it just to get it over with. Even though the estate is...

    Tax Filing Sale of House

My stepdad sold his house last year for $215,000. So even without basis he is under the $250,000 exclusion limit. We passed all the questions and did not receive a 1099-S. Mom died in August. So she had social security of less than $800 for 8 months. Stepdad had SS of less than $1700 for 12...
