    I've certainly experienced the OP's loss of ambition in career and to some extent hobbies. My relationships with family are a greater priority though. It reminds me of an Anne Tyler novel sometimes.

    I rebuilt an outside wall that had been covered with vinyl siding and had rotted. Worst part was wrestling plywood sheets but it worked out quite well.

    Awkward Wealth

    I used my $ to buy an ice cream chiller/ machine. The best money I've ever "thrown away" , I love it, my wife loves it and my friends love what it makes. But i still look at it as waste.

    I worked a summer just out of high school in a cotton mill boxing "seconds". It was good incentive to work hard in college.

    Class of 2017

    My current plan is January 10, 2017. Company has a subsidized medical benefit and cost of living adjustment to pension at 62, if those change my plans will change.

    COLA's pension - capped or not capped

    My pension will increase at 1/2 of the the CPI. It doesn't apply if I leave before 62, so 3 1/2 more years.

    Hi, I'm 58 and from SC. Looking towards 01/2017 when I can receive full pension benefits. I might be able to go earlier but would forgo a med. ins. stipend that is in place at 62. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone and thanks for everything so far. CC
