    Extended Warranty ??

I read an article once that suggested you take all the money you would have used to buy extended warranties and put it in an account. When the day comes that something breaks down, just use that money to pay for it.

    Restaurant Dining

We were fully vaccinated in early March here in the Dallas area. This month we started going out to sit-down restaurants as usual - maybe once a week or so. Every place we've been to has been fairly busy, but I noticed the waiting areas were not crowded (maybe people waited in their cars?)...

Men's health: stand up or sit down?

I thought it was just me! We have a marble floor in the powder room (shiny marble in a bathroom probably ranks as one of the worst ideas of my life, but that's another topic). Years of standing caused it to get dull, so I started sitting. The floor is still dull, but at least it's a clean dull :)

    Who's your broker?

Just did a quick review and my E-Trade brokerage had one amended consolidated 1099 in the past 7 years. That was for the 2018 tax year.

Did any of you regret early retirement or is anyone worried about leaving too early?

ER'd at 50. That was five years ago and I have not regretted a day. I was not miserable at work, but it was always stressful and it never really left my thoughts while I was there. Never realized the burden that put on me until it was gone. The past five years have been the lightest and most...

    Coronavirus - Travel impact

Unfortunately masks won't prevent you from getting the virus. However, they can help prevent the spread if you have symptoms - especially coughing or sneezing.

Do You Have a Filing System for Documents?

I've been digitizing almost all of our docs for the last couple of years and uploading them to Google Drive. The advantage for me is that the drive is searchable and I can find stuff easier. I just take a pic of the doc using Adobe Scan on my phone, upload it to Google Drive as a PDF, then...

    Firing the service workers

We immediately fired the housekeeper and lawn service. Rehired the lawn service after a couple of years because Texas summers are way too hot to be outside. We still do the housework ourselves (with a little help from Fifi our Roomba).

    Leaving LinkedIn-did you?

Not a weird topic at all! I'm in a similar situation... Retired four years ago but have kept my LinkedIn account open. Will probably keep it for the foreseeable future because it's interesting to see how former coworkers are doing. Sometimes it also reminds me how truly happy I am to be away...
