Uhmm, my return in 2014 was 46.2%. I've been pretty much 100% equities for almost 30 years.

    The old dog..

My oldest dog is 11 and has an autoimmune deficiency. He's on Prednisone and Atopica. The pred is making him weak. I don't see him making it through the winter. He's had two ACL surgeries and has some arthritis. The muscle wasting from the pred is making it difficult for him to poop but...

Hi, I've got fired today by megacorp...Looking for help...

This reminded me of something I read on FT. I can't find it now but one of the more interesting things I've read on Flyertalk was, I believe, in the MS forum but it could have been in the Delta forum where I normally hang out. Anyhoo, back in the 80s, a guy found out about a regular fare...

    Looks like Equifax was breached

I've had free credit monitoring for at least 4 years now due to places I've had business with getting hacked including the DoD. They all send you a letter of apology with the info to sign up for a year of free credit monitoring. At some point, I assume, things are going to get very bad for me...

Hi, I've got fired today by megacorp...Looking for help...

OP, how much were you MS/month? Did the CCC shut you down recently? Just curious. Anyhoo, I wouldn't worry too much about the future. I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Hi, I've got fired today by megacorp...Looking for help...

I did that with the Target Red Card for about 6 months until that ended. I haven't MS since. I rarely even go to the FT MS forum any more but I'm still on the Delta forum a lot.

    Travel as a lifestyle

I'm thinking about scaling back my travel when I retire. I travel for work domestically and take anywhere from 2-5 international vacations every year. I figure I'll do most of my international travel now while I have hotel points and free car rental days earned through OPM.

    Hurricane Harvey

No, we had a customer (which is also part of our megacorp) that had some computers that got flooded. Those computers were workstations that are used to watch video from our camera system as well as allow them to operate our access system. Two of them are used specifically to watch the flare...

    Hurricane Harvey

I got a call Saturday night asking me to go to Orange, TX. I left Sunday morning flying into IAH, then I had to drive north to Livingston, west to Newton, then south to Orange. I had to drive through water a few times around Orange to get to the plant. I then worked until 11:30 PM, then drove...

Type of car you drive and age

A rusting 2003 F150 with 117,xxx miles on it. I've had it since 2004. I haven't changed oil on it since June of last year because I'm using synthetic and I have about 800 miles on the oil. I travel for work nearly every week and even in the rare occasions that I don't fly, I rent a car. So...

    Investing for Japan-style future

Owning stock in companies that make, repair, sell, buy, and/or use robots? Instead of grandma and grandpa putting money into a grandkid's college fund, maybe they'll put shares in a robotic company fund or even an index fund. Plus, there will still be drugs, prostitution, and gambling. :)

    Investing for Japan-style future

I don't see an issue with less labor participation as long as more people are invested in production. We could see an automated world where the majority of the people are stockholders of those automated companies.

    Investing for Japan-style future

We would have to have little to no immigration and a declining population, just like Japan has had for years. The idea that the US will have little to no immigration is pretty farfetched. Without getting into politics, even Trump just wants to limit immigration to 1 million people/year...
