    anybody else super conservative?

I retired at 56, now 60. I have a similar conservative position without real estate, roughly 70% (401k Stable Value, cash/CDs) 30% (401K US Equity, a few taxable stocks/Funds) and Roth 70% equities. 75% of everything is in 401k and when it reaches 35% equities I rebalance. Has done this 3 times...

    Toto - Africa - turns 40

Saw them recently. Lukather was the only original one that night. Got to say thought, their sound was amazing! All superb musicians and vocals. The original guys were top notch studio musicians that played on many tracks of many superstars. Adding Bobby Kimball's vocals was the magic ingredient...

    Empower retirement company?

My company switched to Empower not long before I retired 2+ years ago. They are administrating the policies set by each company so typically look up my specific information for each call/question. No big deal, but, every time I call the first person is always the "sales guy", then you get passed...

    Popcorn ceiling removal

I removed the popcorn on my vaulted 20x20 living room, I used the "wet" spray and scrape method. I laid plastic sheeting on the floor to catch the mess and was careful not to gouge up the sheetrock too bad I did need a little bit of mud here and there but all in all it came out great. Applying...

    Fidelity Retirement Analysis

Thanks for the replies and information. I guess that there are a lot of factors that effect the numbers from both the personal side and the calculator side that may change the analysis over the years. Anyway, glad to see folks are satisfied with both Fidelity and Firecalc analysis' as well as...

    Fidelity Retirement Analysis

I agree that Fidelity is a lot more work putting in the details but I feel a more comfortable with the analysis. Firecalc is a great comparison though

    Fidelity Retirement Analysis

Firecalc and Fidelity planner are my two main tools as well. It seems like Firecalc's squiggly lines for Assets at End of Plan are sort of in line with the Fidelity Average market returns selection. I was just curious if anyone had any hard data over time of the Fidelity results.

    Fidelity Retirement Analysis

Has anyone used the Fidelity Retirement Planner long enough to have a good idea if their calculation of "Assets at End of Plan" is accurate, or how far off they may be if it is not accurate? Even the "Significantly Below Average" calculation makes me wonder a bit.

New auto safety tech - do you use it?

I really don't like the forward radar on the cruise control when highway driving. It can be set to different sensitivities but really effects your timing of having to change lanes which may not be possible because of traffic coming up from the rear. I typically just defeat it and use the regular...

Home Sale Via Fixed Fee Real Estate Broker?

I sold my first flat fee property a couple of years ago and the experience was great. The agent that listed it was very helpful through the entire process offering advise, forms, consultations, etc. I also agree with the professional pictures but there are so may photography hobbyists that do...
