What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Not sure if you have access to Netflix, but the murder mystery mini-series Sophie: A murder in West Cork (Ireland) is excellent. One of the best programs I've watch recently

    Expat Corner

Very interesting. I'd love to learn more about your situation. Where in Portugal do you stay? Are you single or do you have a spouse who travels with you to Portugal? What age are you? Not to sound to nosey, but Portugal is so popular now and I and perhaps others would love to hear from your...

    Expat Corner

I interviewed like 10 years ago in Southern China for a plant manager role with a U.S. golf grip company to manage their factory and staff. The expat that I would be replacing (I didn't get the job) was a white American about 50 yrs old who was retiring with his Thai wife to a fishing farm in...

Anyone from Europe - how to FIRE 45 in Europe

With all due respect, it doesn't seem like you have enough to retire at 45. My one question, which I think most are thinking is why are you only working part time at such a young age of 45? You're in prime earnings age in your life. Why not work full time, save as much as you can, then retire at...

    Expat Corner

Thanks for the update, and I was always interested in that visa for Taiwan in the future, if we chose to head back to Asia. Portugal is super popular now, and real estate prices have skyrocketed over the last few years. Locals in Portugal are very friendly and willing to converse in English...

    IRS Taxpayer Advocate Interaction

I called the IRS directly last month and the results were surprisingly very positive. It took a long time to complete the conversation, but the IRS employee was very friendly. She handled all but one of the four issues I had, and then scheduled an appointment for me to visit an IRS office in my...

I like 1883 on Paramount plus. It's a good Western show with a nice story and some good violence/action. I wish they made more of these kinds of shows.

    Rental properties - insurance question

Yeah I only had liability and an umbrella for total coverage on the rental properties, and I still was nervous haha. If I resided in Florida like you, I honestly don't know what I'd do. Obviously a law suit was my biggest fear, so I thought thru the process of getting sued, and what layers would...

    Rental properties - insurance question

I had 6 single family home rentals in South Florida for the last 10 years and I'm currently in the process of selling them all and buying homes to rent out in PA, which is where I reside now. The insurance rates were one of the major reasons for me selling out of Florida, along with the weather...

What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Succession. It's IMO the best show on TV and the new season is coming up in the middle of this month. The writing is awesome as are the characters. If you haven't seen the Sopranos then I'm jealous as that will be a real treat. It's an excellent show.

    Countries offering retirement visas

Funny, because we were thinking of settling down in Valencia before moving back to the States. People in Valencia I have to say weren't the friendliest and as much as we tried to speak Spanish, they just got frustrated and didn't seem very accepting of foreigners. Plus, the summer months is was...

    Class of 2022

Where are you living now outside the U.S. and where is the U.S. based home? One suggestion is try a college town and live in the center of downtown. What age are you? If you have no kids, many cities in the U.S. could be an option since you wouldn't care about public schools.

What time of year did you retire at?

February of this year, 2020. Right before Corona hit. I wanted to make sure I received my annual bonus and then a few weeks later we moved and I quit for good. Never going back to the office ever, and at the age of 41!
