I have completely cleared out my office. Also, found out i have 1 1/2 days of administrative leave i need to take this week, so I have 2 days left to w*rk. We are having serious flooding in Arkansas right now, so I think I will use my newly found free time to volunteer when the water recedes.

Only 5 w*rk days to go. This time next week, I become a man of leisure. There's an old saying in the Ozarks; "I can hold a wild bear's nose in a saucer of $#!+ for long." Shabby, Don't let those florescent light get down. Just keep holding that bear's nose in it.

I just attended a co-w*rker's retirement luncheon. There will be one more retirement luncheon before mine on June 7th. The face of this organization is really changing, as there will be two more retiring shortly after me. That's five senior people leaving in the span of about three months. I'm...

No plans for the first month or two; just decompress and gradually establish my new normal.

I'm with Shabby on this one. When I turned in my retirement date, I felt a tremendous weight lift off my shoulders.

It must be. The finish line is so close, but everyday seems like an eternity.

I'm with Shabby, these last days are really dragging. I have a lot of sick leave and vacation leave left. My company will compensate me for those days, but I've decided to take some of them and just w*rk 4 day weeks until the 7th of June. Ready to be RETIRED!

I don't know anything about this fund, but it was recommended to me by a financial advisor as safe place to stick money and draw some interest. If anyone knows anything about the fund, I sure would appreciate your input.

Shabby and Lawrencewendall, We are all three retiring on the 7th. I challenge you both, to see who has the longest, happiest retirement. With the gantlet thrown down, I hope you both beat me by at least one day and one smile.

June 7, 2019 is my last day. Wow, time sure slows after you start the countdown. I have 66 working days until FIRE. My wife will be in her second year of retirement starting in June, so we are ready to start traveling and enjoying the fruits of our years of 9 to 5.

Being as happy, or happier than pre-retirement. My working life has been great, so, if I can match or beat that, I'll call it a successful retirement.

Hi, I am 62 and have 82 working days, until I turn 63. I will retire on June 2, which is the day before my birthday. I'm not an early retiree, but I'm an excited one. I've been enjoying the forums for about a week now, and I look forward to further reading and contributing.
