I did notice that - if I put in a low number, I get three plans to choose from, and a higher income I get more choices - so does that mean those other plans are truly not available? or is there a way to access them once you know your subsidy number?

That's downright scary, simple math means you are paying somewhere around $25,000/year in property taxes - that's 4 time as much as what I pay for a 5BD house on almost 200 acres (in a rural part of New England).

You shouldn't be preparing for unemployment, with two years notice, you should be figuring out what you need to do to walk into another (hopefully well paying) job with little or no lapse. Two years is plenty of time to line something up.
