    is this rude ?

Thanks. That was my first reaction. The guy just gave wrong vibes. I have encountered rude before, but usually on subsequent communication, they "loosen up". This person didn't. .

Here's what Craigslist says about their email-relay https://www.craigslist.org/about/help/email-relay PLEASE NOTE: The “real name” field (e.g. Jane Doe) in your email program is passed through to the recipient. Any contact information in the body of your message will pass through unaltered. It...

    is this rude ?

That's where a burner phone is useful. I have a smartphone that I pay $30/year and which I use for various purposes including people who insist on wanting to text. I normally stick to email, but if pressed, I use the burner phone. Any calls or texts to that phone is generally ignored. .

    is this rude ?

It is an unequal exchange of information. The other person knows where I live. From that alone I can tell a lot of things including full name of the person who owns the house. I on the other hand don't even get the courtesy of a first name. .

    is this rude ?

I used the wrong word annoyed . The whole completely anonymous approach creeped me out. I have given away things in the past on Craigslist and Freecycle. No one has done it like this. No name. No email address. Complete NOTHING. .

    is this rude ?

With Ebay, you don't have to worry about your safety. You just have to worry about being scammed if you are the seller. :) I think for the future, I will just drop these electronic-y things at Best Buy if they will take them.

    is this rude ?

Can you explain how the anonymouse email feature works, because I certainly want to do that in the future too just like this person and be truly anonymous. What a wonderful thing that is. .

    is this rude ?

But I wouldn't be giving you the address of where I live. It seems no else is concerned about safety. Oh well. It is bad enough but this crosses the line for me. It creeped me out. I think I will stick to Freecycle.

is this rude and creepy? I posted for free in Craigslist two audio cables and one video cable with the RCA connectors. Someone emailed and the email "name" shows up as craigslist reply 267e in my webmail. To top it off, the email itself contained Nice cables can I pick them up tomorrow...

    RIP Betty White

Yes, but I don't think she was working for the money. The residuals from the Golden Girls is probably enough. I read somewhere that being inactive because of Covid may actually have been bad for her.

    reducing medical bill

The USA is at the top for extraordinary medicine. But if you want something "simple", the cost is outrageous in the USA.

    RIP Betty White

I thought for sure she'd make it to 100. To have a productive active life as she had is my wish. Rest easy Betty White.

Are you preparing for life disruptions from this winter/Omicron COVID surge?

My mom in her 80s --- vaccinated and boosted --- returned to her senior center in early fall. She is not sure whether she should return in Jan. 2022 after the holiday break. The vaccine status of some of the members is unknown, and many of the members are not masked. They say it is hard to be...

Early Retirement blamed for labor shortages

Jobs in my field appear to be still scarce where I live. I hadn't planned on permanently retiring and would prefer to work a few contract jobs but it is what it is.

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

Because they only have to tap the screen once. They're just "looking". ;D tap. tap. tap. tap. very easy

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

At least on Craigslist they have to type "Is X still available?". I haven't tried the Craigslist app. On Facebook, it is pre-typed and all you have to do is touch/click on the question. So, I click on the pre-typed "Yes, it is available" in response.

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

I hope the people buying these Streams realize that they may be stuck with a laptop where Windows 10 cannot be updated. If so, they may get very frustrated.

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

How to fix greedy silly people. The mitigation only partially works. He wanted a $200 laptop for $50. I am on eBay quite a bit, and even the junk is going for over $75. It is crazy. Someone paid $80 including shipping for a HP Stream with 32GB eMMC hard drive. With that size hard drive...

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

I don't want to give it away for free since I put some of my own brain equity into it. Besides, the local non-profit that provides computers to needy families want laptops with at least an i3 in them. Sheesh. Windows 10.

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

I wouldn't mind giving it away to someone who really needs, but I have no way of knowing. Interestingly enough, some non-profits won't take an old laptop like this. .

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

This was on Facebook, but the same flakes. I did tell him if he wanted slim and light, go buy a Chromebook or the $180 Gateway laptop from Walmart. I wonder in what reality he was living in.

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

Terrific. I made the changes. The key is to list the year. That should eliminate many of the flakes.

buyer said the laptop was "so big"

I met with a buyer today for a $50 used laptop. I was taken aback by his complaint that the laptop is "so big". Yes, the laptop is big and bulky. It weighs about 6 pounds. However, the screen is unblemished and the battery still holds 100% of original capacity. Given that most people don't...

    Wished I Ordered On Ebay

I know with the shower door kit I ordered from Home Depot this summer, the tracking number never worked because the shower door kit was shipped via freight. I am really surprised that the tracking number for a stud sensor was useless as well. As I recall, the showerhead I purchased had a valid...
