Retired in 2002. 30 years (age 18 to 48) of climbing telephone poles in the Mississippi delta was about all I could stand.

In north Mississippi ,I filled up for $2.14 in Greenwood. In Ruleville (birthplace of Fannie Lou Hamer) it was $2.39 and Winona on I-55  the price was $2.27.

Nov. 1 2005   Appox. 5000 citizens ,who have paid city taxes for over 10 years, but not allowed to vote in city elections ,have now voted. It took 2 federal law suits, the us justice dept. and 10 years, but these citzens of Grenada,Mississippi now have their civil rights.  www.grenadastar.com
