    Food Triggered Irregular Heart Rhythm?

I have a Microlife BP monitor that is bluetooth capable to send my measurements to the Microlife and it flags if it detects an irregular heartbeat during the measurement. I bought it at Costco for about $45 on sale. There is currently a Homedics BP monitor on Costco dot com for $49.99 with...

Medigap Shopping: Closing the Book & Rate Increases

I switched to Plan G-HD with United American. My monthly premium (at 65 in Central FL) is $55, $100 less than my AARP/UHC Plan N. Plan N was too much insurance for my age, my health profile, my financial situation, and the availability of high quality VA healthcare to me

shameless ask for praise for walking

Glad your knees are in great shape. I thought I've heard running was harder on the hips. When my husband was in with his surgeon after his hip replacement, he made a joke about taking up running and the surgeon responded about seeing him in a few years to do the second hip. Hopefully, nothing of...

Medigap Shopping: Closing the Book & Rate Increases

I think I'm going to take a look into this option. Are you in South, Central, or North Florida? I need insurance to pay for the big crashes, not the oil changes and general maintenance. Between my husband and I, we are up to $4,150 a year in supplement premiums (both Plan N's).

    Sildenafil 50mg for Pulmonary Hypertension

Be sure to use GoodRx code at Costco. I get a prescription every once in awhile for us or the cat and I always use GoodRx. The GoodRx price always beats insurance. Just go to the GoodRx website or download the app and put your med into the search box. There is a paid tier but I don't bother with...

Medigap Shopping: Closing the Book & Rate Increases

Well, you're going to pay either way, whether you're healthy or not or whether you're paying the premium or paying the 20% Medicare co-pay. When I look at the EOB's, even including my husband's hip surgery, the 20% co-pay is a relatively small number compared to the amount of supplement premiums...

I also use this function for songs in the background of shows, especially on Britbox and AcornTV. I've found some interesting international artists.

Spot that launch at 7:26PM Pacific time.

We have a lot of launches in FL. A lot! Sometimes my neighbor takes time-lapse images of them and posts them to our private neighborhood Facebook group. This one was at 5:12 am a couple of mornings ago. Often we will walk outside a minute or 2 before the launch and watch it with several other...

Medigap Shopping: Closing the Book & Rate Increases

Does it still make sense to pay the premiums versus just paying the 20% not covered by Medicare out of pocket? At some point, it might make financial sense to just pay out of pocket.

You might not be eligible but it never hurts to ask. Your level of income doesn't disqualify you from care but will cause you to make nominal co-pays. https://www.va.gov/health-care/eligibility/ https://www.va.gov/health-care/how-to-apply/

REtiring early at 57 and scared

I did not deploy and I did not retire from the military and I qualify for VA healthcare. Neither of those two things are required to qualify for VA healthcare. Even if it's just a backup, it might be worth applying and getting a formal acceptance or denial.

Medigap part G high deductible Florida users

Well, it was available from AARP United Healthcare in Central FL when I signed up in late 2023 (for an early 2024 start) but I chose Plan N. I signed up directly with them. 1-866-866-8993. I'm going to try to attach the rate sheet for Central Florida, non-smoker, female.

Use TurboTax and purchase the $60 audit insurance offered right before you file. TurboTax will run interference with the IRS if there is an issue. I'm a trustee for a friend's special needs trust so I complete and file the trust tax return every year. I worked part-time a few seasons for H&R...

WSJ - Big mistakes people make in Medicare

If you are enrolled in VA healthcare, you will start getting an annual letter from the VA telling you that your enrollment counts as Part D creditable coverage. But be careful. Your VA doctor has to prescribe the medication that you want, i.e. the medication that has been prescribed by your...

Considering using a VSO (Veterans Service Officer) to assist you in filing a disability claim. Search VSO and/or VA accredited representative on VA.gov. REtiring early at 57 and scared

You are a veteran so you should be eligible for healthcare from the VA. You will pay nominal co-pays for care and for prescriptions. I retired early and the VA was my only source of healthcare from the age of 52 to the age of 65. Actually, I self-paid for some chiro visits in the community so I...

    About death and money

A friend ran into a POA problem because it was more than 6 months old. Her mom passed before she could make the required changes to a stock account and it's been a long, long process getting things straightened out (over 8 months). Come to find out, her mom had a will but she didn't have the...

If you use Twitter, you will be much less frustrated using direct messaging to @XfinitySupport. The reps who are responding to the DM's have been very competent and you usually get an initial response within 10-15 minutes of your post.
